TiE is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs across all industries and stages of growth. With a global reach and local focus, TiE drives entrepreneurship through its five pillars: Mentoring, Networking, Education, Funding, and Incubation. Many members have launched startups within TiE and now give back as charter members. TiE’s mission is to foster entrepreneurship, generating wealth for entrepreneurs and their communities.
TiE was founded in Silicon Valley in December 1992 by Ambrish (AJ) Patel (Founder) and eight cofounders, Suhad Patelm Kanwal Rekhi, Roy Prasad, Bipin Shah, Kailash Joshi, Raidu (Ray) Vrudhula, Narpat Bhandari and Sam Sathya. AJ was a visionary leader who was passionate about creating an organization dedicated to networking and fostering entrepreneurship via mentoring. The co-founders joined AJ to turn TiE into a movement, and all contributed to the creation of TiE.
Since 1992, tiE has been dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship by connecting founders, investors, corporate leaders, and industry experts, As the world’s largest nonprofit supporting entrepreneurs, TiE has built a global ecosystem driven by collaboration, wealth creation, and the spirit of giving back. With 12000+ members, including over 3000+ charter mentors across 60 chapters in 12 countries, TiE is committed to empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs across all industries and stages of growth.
TiE’s impactful programs include its flagship event, TiEcon an entrepreneurship conference along with initiatives such as TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE), TiE Women, TiE Health & Wellness, TiE Angels and Networking mixers. Each program is designed to inspire, support, and accelerate entrepreneurial success within a vibrant global community.
At the heart of TiE Vancouver is a distinguished Board of DIrectors – a collective of visionary leaders, accomplished entrepreneurs, seasoned investors, and industry experts who are united by a shared mission: to inspire, foster and accelerate entrepreneurship across Western Canada.
