These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of vancouver.tie.org (the "Site"), operated by TiE Vancouver, a chapter of TiE Global. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
About TiE Vancouver
TiE Vancouver is a volunteer-led entrepreneurship organization serving Western Canada. Our programs, including TiE Student Entrepreneur, are not academic programs and do not grant degrees, credits or accredited qualifications.
Using the Site
You agree to use the Site lawfully and respectfully. You must not:
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems;
- interfere with the Site's operation or security, or introduce malicious code;
- collect information about other users without their consent;
- use the Site to send spam or misleading content; or
- misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with TiE Vancouver or TiE Global.
Content and intellectual property
The Site's content, including text, graphics, photographs and videos, belongs to TiE Vancouver, TiE Global or their licensors. The TiE name and logos are trademarks of TiE Global and are used under licence. You may view and share Site content for personal, non-commercial purposes with attribution. Any other use requires our written permission.
Applications, events and memberships
Program applications, event registrations and memberships may be handled through third-party platforms and are subject to the specific terms, eligibility rules and deadlines of each program or event. Program details, dates and prizes may change, and final decisions on selection, track placement and awards rest with TiE Vancouver, TiE Global or the relevant organizers.
Information you submit
When you submit information or materials, such as a pitch deck or application, you confirm that you have the right to share it. You grant TiE Vancouver and TiE Global permission to use it to run the relevant program or event. We will handle personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy. Please do not share confidential information you are not prepared to disclose to judges and mentors.
No professional advice
Content on the Site, and guidance shared by mentors, speakers and volunteers, is for general information only. It is not legal, financial, investment or tax advice. Any investment through TiE Angels or elsewhere carries risk and is your own decision.
Third-party sites
The Site links to third-party websites and services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, TiE Vancouver, its directors, volunteers and partners are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content.
Changes and governing law
We may update these Terms at any time by posting a new version on this page. These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
